Standard Process Inc. Partners with Johnson & Wales University to Host First Culinary Wellness Workshop

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (August 7, 2019) – Standard Process Inc. will host a “Farm to Fork: Therapeutic to Lifestyle Culinary Solutions” workshop from Thursday, August 8 – Sunday, August 11, 2019 at the Johnson & Wales University – College of Culinary Arts in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The first-of-its-kind, sold-out event provides over 60 registered health care professionals from across the U.S. with cutting-edge information on how to pair whole foods for prevention and management as a universal primary therapeutic option.

“We are truly honored to partner with Johnson & Wales University to host our first Culinary Wellness Workshop,” says Standard Process Vice President of Clinical Science, Education and Innovation Dr. John Troup. “This farm-to-fork culinary experience is specifically designed to help licensed healthcare professionals incorporate whole food-based nutrition into their practice as therapeutic and lifestyle solutions for patients.”

The workshop will include nutrition education seminars, hands-on culinary demonstrations, networking with chefs, as well as opportunities to earn a culinary certificate and Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits.

The multi-day event kicks-off on Thursday with a welcome reception and tour of the Johnson & Wales University facility, including the James H. Hance, Jr. Auditorium, baking and pastry labs, a culinary dining room, hospitality beverage labs and academic classrooms.

After a full day of speakers, culinary demonstrations, and hands-on kitchen sessions on Friday, Standard Process invites participants to a meal cultivated from kitchen sessions earlier in the day. Culinary discussions and demonstrations continue on Saturday, as well as a presentation for practitioners on applying nutrition education in their practices.

The workshop ends on Sunday with a culinary demonstration featuring Standard Process products and a conversation about therapeutic nutrition and medical foods.

In addition, Standard Process will launch an online Culinary Wellness series during the event available on WholisticMatters.com, an education platform powered by the company to advance the latest insights in nutrition therapy and clinical care. The series will feature virtual culinary demonstrations, cooking skill tutorials and recipes that incorporate whole food nutrition principles and Standard Process products.
