Local Students Participate in National Leadership Conference

Four area students attend conference through a sponsorship from Standard Process Inc.

After attending a national leadership conference in Shelby, Michigan June 15-22, 2014, students (l-r) Emily Martens, Noemie Corvarrubis, Kadee Jankowski and Jarrett Giese shared their experiences with Pat Jones (center), life coach consultant, and (far right) Charles DuBois, president. Standard Process sponsored each student’s participation in the conference and travel costs.

PALMYRA, Wis. (July 29, 2014) —Four local teenagers attended the American Youth Foundation’s National Leadership Conference in Shelby, Michigan, June 15-22, 2014. Kadee Jankowski of Mukwonago, Wisconsin, and Noemie Corvarrubis, Jarrett Giese and Emily Martens of Palmyra, Wisconsin, attended the conference to learn life leadership skills. All four students were sponsored by Standard Process Inc.

During the event, which is geared towards high school and college students, conference leaders taught the participants different ways to discover and develop their minds, bodies and spirits. Large and small group activities were specifically designed to create opportunities for the participants to learn better skills to apply in various daily life situations.

“I’m grateful to have been given the opportunity from Standard Process to attend the National Leadership Conference,” said Martens, who will be a Palmyra-Eagle High School senior this fall. “As I prepare for my last year of high school, I will apply many of the skills I learned to be a better role model for my peers.”

As part of its corporate values, Standard Process is committed to the whole person, product, process, planet and posterity. In fulfilling its posterity value, the company supports its employees and their children in many ways, including sponsorships and scholarships.

To qualify for the sponsorship, applicants had to be 15 to 17 years of age and the child of a Standard Process employee. Eight teens applied for the sponsorship; each applicant wrote an essay about themselves and interviewed with Standard Process Life Coach Consultant Pat Jones. When they returned from the conference, the group met with Charles DuBois, president of Standard Process, to share their conference experiences.
