Inositol, part of the B-vitamin complex, is found in the body's cells, where it helps regulate multiple functions. Inositol is needed for the formation of phospholipids. Inositol also has lipotrophic effects, actions that promote the transportation and use of fats. Inositol has been known to contribute to the body's normalization of fat metabolism and has been shown to be a valuable adjunct for sugar metabolism.†
