Tribulus Quality Issues
The modern uses of Tribulus are largely based on extensive research conducted in Bulgaria. The Bulgarian studies used a leaf and stem preparation of Tribulus standardized to protodioscin. MediHerb's Tribulus is phytoequivalent to the Tribulus used in the Bulgarian clinical trials.*
From our research we know that Tribulus products must:
- Be standardized to protodiosicin – important active component
- Use Tribulus sourced only from Eastern Europe due to the phytochemical profile with required levels of protoof the herb grown in that area
- Be made from the aerial plant parts (leaf and stem, NOT the fruit). The fruit contains very little protodioscin*
