Standard Process' Vita Kids Learning Center Expands
PALMYRA, Wisconsin (July 15, 2009) — Standard Process Inc. has begun construction on its Vita Kids Learning Center, an onsite, high-quality child care center. The Wisconsin-based manufacturer of nutritional whole food supplements is adding 7,000+ square feet to the current building to meet the growing needs of its employees. Construction is estimated to take five months.
The additional space will be used for more classrooms and a teacher/family resource center. This will increase the center's capacity by 168%, accommodating 102 children, ages 6 weeks-12 years. A commercial kitchen with more space and appliances to accommodate the increase in enrollment is also part of the expansion design.
Vita Kids Learning Center, located on the company's campus in the Palmyra Industrial Park, provides safe, nurturing, educational and affordable childcare for Standard Process' employees. The center is managed by Bright Horizons Family Solutions—the world's leading provider of employer-sponsored childcare, early education, and work/life solutions. In addition to offering children a foundation for academic excellence and life skills, the program provides employees with the opportunity to successfully manage work and family.
Excel Engineering Inc. of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin designed the addition and Oliver Construction Co. of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin is the construction firm.
This is the second major construction project for Standard Process this year. The company broke ground in June on an agricultural building that will be used for company-hosted educational seminars and tours.
