Standard Process President Awarded Honorary Doctorate
National University of Health Sciences Confers Honorary Degree
PALMYRA, Wisconsin (May 8, 2009) — Charles DuBois, president, Standard Process Inc., Palmyra, Wisconsin, has received an honorary doctorate from National University of Health Sciences, Lombard, Illinois. The degree was presented to Mr. DuBois for his continuous support of chiropractic and its future. Mr. DuBois was the commencement speaker for the spring 2009 NUHS graduating class.
Since becoming Standard Process' president in 1995, Mr. DuBois has made significant contributions to chiropractic. Through the company, he has provided funding for endowed nutrition chairs and scholarship programs, supplied products to college clinics, contributed financially to campus renovations for many of the chiropractic schools and is a board member of several chiropractic associations.
NUHS president James Winterstein, D.C., presented the award. He thanked Mr. DuBois for his hard work and "commitment to whole health healing, to the support of human nutrition and to the university".
Mr. DuBois learned how to manufacture whole food supplements from the ground up, beginning his career hand-weeding beet fields on the company farm in 1983. After attaining a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering in 1989, he joined the company as a plant engineer. Three years later he graduated with his Master of Science degree in engineering management from the Milwaukee School of Engineering. Under Mr. DuBois' direction, Standard Process has twice been named to the INC. 5,000 list, and ranked among Wisconsin's top 75 privately-held companies. The DuBois family is the third generation to own and operate the company since its inception in 1929.
