SCUHS Receives $150K from Standard Process

PALMYRA, Wisconsin (March 2, 2009)—Standard Process Inc. and Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCU) have partnered together to offer students at SCU opportunities and programs that support the creation of caring and competent healers. As a part of their commitment, Standard Process, a Wisconsin-based manufacturer of nutritional whole food supplements, contributed $150,000 to SCU. The money will be used to help with the school's planned campus renovations, support their 2009 Extravaganza Symposium, and establish an endowed scholarship.

Dr. Ronald Kraft, SCU President stated, "Standard Process is a leader in nutrition, and health and wellness programs and products, and we are proud and delighted to see our relationship with this fine company grow. This generous gift represents industry support and recognition that our vision of becoming the premier university for integrative healthcare is becoming a reality"

SCU is planning renovations to create a nutritional resource center for students. This center will serve as a place for students to learn about the whole food philosophy and how to apply nutritional counseling. Located on the school's 38-acre campus in Whittier, California, approximately 20 miles southeast of Los Angeles, the nutritional resource center will be named after Standard Process.

"Standard Process is pleased to be able to support SCU and its students' educational experience. The students' desire for more practical nutritional education is very encouraging to Standard Process. By creating a long term relationship with SCU to support the university's program development, facility improvements, and student education interests and needs, we are helping the students become the natural healers that are needed in today's times," says Dr. Mary Beth Larsen, Chiropractic Relations Manager, Standard Process.

With their contribution, Standard Process has also become a major sponsor for SCU's 2009 Extravaganza Symposium. The Extravaganza offers continuing education and focuses on advanced topics specifically designed for all doctors of chiropractic, licensed acupuncturists, and alternative healthcare providers. An endowed scholarship, funded through Standard Process' contribution, will also be established to support the education of well qualified and deserving students.
